PLEASE NOTE:
We are currently not doing weddings until further notice.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

The Adagio Strings violin duo aims to provide simple, elegant music for your wedding. We are an affordable alternative to more expensive, larger ensembles such as string quartets. A two violin ensemble is ideally suited to intimate settings such as small to medium sized weddings. We perform all the classic wedding pieces plus a variety of pieces from the baroque and classical eras (see Repertoire below). We perform at church and outdoor weddings (including beach and garden settings), and can also be hired for other church events. In addition, if you've hired a small orchestra or other ensemble for an event and need one or two more violinists, we would be happy to assist you.

Trained as classical musicians in Europe and the U.S., my sister and I have extensive violin performance experience. We both played with the USF Symphony Orchestra for several years, and participated in a number of events, from weddings to educational and church events. We hope that you will give us a chance to help you create wonderful memories of your special day.

We play all the wedding classics, including:

• Wedding March - Mendelssohn
• Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin - Wagner
• Canon in D - Pachelbel
• Bourree from Water Music - Handel
• Trumpet Tune - Clarke
• Rondeau - Mouret
• Spring from the Four Seasons - Vivaldi
• Prince of Denmark Trumpet Voluntary - Purcell
• Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring - Bach
• Hornpipe from Water Music - Handel
• Ode to Joy - Beethoven
• Air on the G string - Bach
• Air from Water Music - Handel
• Autumn from the Four Seasons - Vivaldi
• Sheep may safely graze - Bach
• Romanza - Mozart
• La Rejouissance - Handel
• Sleepers awake - Bach
• St Anthony Chorale - Brahms

In addition, we can play a variety of pieces by Haydn, Corelli, Mozart, Handel, Boismortier and Chedeville (among others). We often make our own arrangements. This is sometimes a lengthy process, but we believe it is essential in order to capture the essence of the piece. If there is a special piece or song you have in mind and would like us to play, just let us know ahead of time so we can acquire that piece of music and possibly arrange it for two violins.

We will discuss with you what music you would like to hear, what you think would be most appropriate for your wedding, and in what order you would like to have the pieces played. We can suggest music and timing, but this is your day, and the final decision is always up to you. We want to make sure your wedding day is a day to remember, and we will strive to make it special for you.

Do you do beach weddings?

Yes! We will be glad to assist you in making wonderful memories at your beach wedding ceremony. Our small ensemble is ideally suited for such intimate settings. We are able to easily adapt to outdoor venues, provided there is no rain in the forecast.

What do you require at the venue?

In most cases, we will only need chairs (preferably armless) and enough light to see our music. If you are having a beach wedding, we prefer to have chairs but can bring our own if needed. We also require shelter in case of inclement weather.

How will you dress?

For formal occasions such as church weddings, we dress in black. For beach weddings, we usually dress in black, but can dress in black and white, or lighter colors and florals if needed.

Will you perform with guest instrumentalists or singers?

Yes, we will be happy to accompany your singer or musician. We strongly suggest a meeting prior to the event, in order to get acquainted with the person we will be accompanying, and to work out musical and logistical issues. Please note this will require an additional fee.

When do you play?

We will typically play during the Processional and the Recessional, and during the Prelude and Postlude. We usually start playing 15 minutes before the start of the wedding, but can adapt based on your preferences. We are also happy to play for your unity candle or sand ceremony.

Will you attend the wedding rehearsal?

No, it's not necessary for us to attend your wedding rehearsal.

Our rates are very affordable. We can discuss your event on the phone or through email, and can arrange a face to face meeting if you prefer. There is no charge for this.

We do not typically charge for travel in the Tampa Bay area. However, there may be additional costs if extensive travel is required, or if rehearsal time is needed to get acquainted with a guest singer or instrumentalist.
